Triumph Desert Sled Q Air Cleaner

If you’ve been looking for a Q air cleaner for your Desert Sled build, you are now in luck.

We were lucky enough to borrow an original Q air cleaner and have managed to get these looking as authentic as possible.  We have now made a press tool and they look the business!!

These have come out brilliantly and we are really pleased to be able to supply these to all of you Desert Racers out there!

Made just like the originals with the Q logo pressed in to the filter lid, rock trap and all the correct pressings.

We have made these to suit Unit 650 Models from 1963 – 1970 but with some modifications these could be fitted on the Pre Unit models as well, it would be a case of welding a new bracket at the front to mount where the tool box would normally fit.

We supply the Q Air Cleaners with the following:

• 1 jubilee clip to mount the filter to the bottom frame tube
• A second jubilee clip to go around the carb to hold the fabric to the carb and a large gaiter clip to fit around the filter
• Black Air filter media held in like originals with the hooks

We recommend using a carb bell mouth to stop the fabric getting sucked into the carb, this is not essential but recommended.

When fitting the Q Air Cleaner the battery and battery tray will need to be removed and a battery less electronic ignition system will need to be fitted.

We use a Boyer electronic ignition and a Boyer Power Box.  The power box does away with the battery and can be hidden inside the air cleaner.
